Susan Wallace elected bishop of New Zealand’s Te Hui Amorangi ki te Waipounamu diocese

[Anglican Taonga] The Ven. Susan Wallace was elected bishop of Te Hui Amorangi ki te Waipounamu in New Zealand, where she serves as vicar general and registrar-general manager. Once installed, she will become the second Indigenous woman to be elected bishop in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.

Wallace was elected bishop following an April 17-18 electoral college held at Te Tōimairangi Māori Anglican Centre in Christchurch.

The Te Hui Amorangi ki te Waipounamu diocese of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia includes New Zealand’s South Island, Stewart Island and Chatham Islands.
