[World Council of Churches] World Council of Churches General Secretary Jerry Pillay on Dec. 6 expressed solidarity and support for Korean churches, and all ecumenical and civil society partners working to defend human rights, democracy and the rule of law following South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s failed attempt to impose martial law earlier this week.

For these actions, President Yoon will face an impeachment vote,” Pillay said.
